the apparatus consists of a tall metalic cylinder which has two holes in it fir the thermomters the center part of the cylinder is surrounded by a cylinderical trough which has a freezing mixture of ice and salt the cylinder is filled with pure water at room temperature this is the apparatus
these are the observations-: thermometres show the same temperature but afterwards the thermometer 1 goes up stays and then again rises this happens after the because of the anomalous rise of water
