Can someone plz give this answer

Dear student,

a. Two characteristics of wheat flowers that make it a good example of wind pollination:

  • The pollen grains are light and thus can move easily by winds. The no. of pollen grains produced are also high to compensate for the loss during pollination.
  • The stamen is long and anther is found at the extreme end of this long stamen hanging in the air. This helps in the efficient movement of pollen grains.
b. During wind pollination, there is a lot of loss of pollen grains in the process of pollination. This is one reason for breeders opting for pollen grains from pollen banks during wheat hybridization.

Hope this information helps you.
Regards.
