can u plse explain me the dispersed phase and dispersed medium. i cant understand in meritnation. plse try to explain in a easy and a better way.

thank u

A dispersed phase is formed by a solute-like component or colloidal particles in a colloid.

A dispersion medium on the other hand, is the medium in which the dispersed phase (solute) is suspended in a solvent.

Dispersed Phase

Dispersion medium means the medium in which the substance in form of colloidal particles and dispersed phase means the substance distributed in the dispersion medium in form of colloidal particles.

For example in Gel the dispersed phase is liquid and dispersion medium is solid

THE SOLUTE LIKE COMPONENT IE, PRESENT IN SMALL QUANTITY IN A COLLIDAL SOLUTION IS CALLED DISPERSED PHASE.

THE SOLVENT LIKE COMPONENT IE, PRESENT IN LARGE QUANTITY IN A COLLIDAL SOLUTION IS CALLED DISPERSING MEDIUM.

HOPE IT HELPS!
