Compare and contrast between Kinny 's Rain on the roof and Yeats the lake of isle of innisfree

Dear student,

In the poem "The Rain on the Roof" the rain creates an atmosphere that forces the person to press his head against the pillow and sleep. Each drop causes an echo in his heart and feels like a beat of the heart. The memories of his mother and dreams rush in his mind and he remembers her love and her affectionate look as she gazed at him. It creates a temporary sense of joy but the pain of losing his mother stays with him.

In the poem "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" we get to know that a person realises his true source of peace on his own and can reach out to it only if he moves away from the bustling world. Also peace comes slowly to a person. The poem expresses the poet's emotions very clearly, in a brief manner. It is written in the present tense and is set to a particular beat. It brilliantly captures the yearning of the poet to escape to the countryside.
Both the poems use certain elements of nature to bring out the emotions of the central character.
