Compare and contrast the flora of jk with Tamil nadu

Dear Student,

In Jammu and Kashmir, the flora is from the bush type of the arid plain to the temperate and alpine flora of the higher altitudes. There are also maple, horse chestnuts, silver fir, etc., which are all broad-leaf trees. Coming to higher altitudes, there are birch, rhododendron, and a large number of herbal plants. The most popular among Kashmir trees is the Chinar which is found throughout the valley. Mountain ranges in the valley have dense deodar, pine and fir. Walnut, willow, almond and cider also add to the rich flora of Kashmir.

In Tamil Nadu, forests cover roughly 15 percent of the state. There are more than 3000 plant species found. The Western Ghats have mountains support subalpine vegetation. Along the eastern side of the Western Ghats and in the hills of the northern and central districts, the plant life is a mixture of evergreen and deciduous species.
