compare the epidermis of root stem and leaves

Dear student,

1. Epidermis protects the stem, and the young stem's epidermis has stomata. The stem's epidermal cells are cutinized.
2. In leaves, the epidermis protects the leave and prevent excess water loss. The epidermal cells also form the stomatal guard cells.
3. The epidermal cells in the root are not cutinized, and the epidermis helps in water and nutrients' absorption in the root. In the root's epidermis, there are no stomata found.
