Compare the flow of the electricity trough a nickel wire and nickel sulphate solution

Dear Student,

Nickel wire also conduct electron due to presence of free electron but when electrons flow in nickel wire, wire offered resistance while in case  of nickel sulphate solution, Nickel sulphate is a water soluble compound which on dissociation form Ni2 + ions and sulphate ions i.e. SO4 2 -.
As ions carry charge and conduct electricity therefore nickel sulphate solution is a good conductor of electricity.

Ni+H2SO4+½O2→NiSO4+H2O

Nickel sulphate (with water molecules in its crystalline form) dissociates in to [Ni.(H2O)6 ]2+ ions and [sulphate]2- ions and is highly soluble in water.  Thus the electrolyte will pass current very well.
