Compare the photoelectric effect on the basis of photon theory and wave theory of light and hence explain why the wave theory failed to explain it

the wave theory was failed to explain the photoelectric effect due to the following reason ..

1- acc to wave theory when the light of suitable freq will be fall on the metal, then the light absorbed  by each electron will be small. as metal contains large no of electron , so, emission of particle will take some time, but acc to particle theory its instant process..

2- wave theory said than light of any freq can be emit electron when fall on the metal surface, but photoelectric effect said that the light of below the threshold freq. cannot emit electron .
