- Tuber– The lower leaf axils give underground branches which swell up to produce tuber. Buds are present as eyes which can give rise to new plants. E.g. potato.
- Runner – It is produced from the axillary bud of leaf and creeps along the ground. E.g dog grass.
- Sucker – It produces from the underground part of the stem and bears adventitious roots. E.g. Chrysanthemum.
