Construct a complete transcription unit with promoter and terminator on the basis of hypothetical template strand given below: A T G C A T G C A T A C 2. Write the RNA strand transcribed from the above transcription unit along with its polarity. 3.The process of transcription and translation can be coupled in prokaryotes but not in eukaryotes. Give reason

Dear student

Ans 1 & 2. The given transcriptional unit can be represented as:

transcription unit with promotor and terminator

Ans 3.  Prokaryotic transcription and translation occurs at the same place i.e. cytoplasm so we can say it is coupled. But in Eukaryotes after transcription the transcribed mRNA undergoes post transcriptional modifications i.e splicing ,tailing before going into translation.

Prokaryotic transcription occurs in the cytoplasm alongside translation. Prokaryotic transcription and translation can occur simultaneously. This is impossible in eukaryotes, where transcription occurs in a membrane-bound nucleus while translation occurs outside the nucleus in the cytoplasm.
