The calorific value of a fuel is the quantity of heat produced by its combustion.
Lignite coal - ranges from 8000 kJ/kg to 15000 kJ/Kg
Bituminous coal - 12000 kJ/Kg to 20000 kJ/Kg
Anthracite - 32500 kJ/Kg to 34000 kJ/Kg
Peat - 13800 kJ/Kg to 20500 kJ/Kg
