If the plants have the ability to flower throughout their lives, then why do they flower only at a certain time in month.

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

There are two types of flowering plants:
Annual flowering plants are those plants which flower throughout the year and are not affected by changing seasons. Eg. Lily, Anthurium, Aster, Amaranthus, Daisy etc.
Seasonal flowering plants are those plants which flower at a particular season of the year and are affected by changing seasons. Eg. Rose, Sweet pea, Dahlia etc.

Plants can grow throughout their lives but growth depends on several factors (like temperature, wind, rains etc.). When the growing season ends, certain plants (seasonal flowering plants) stop growing and the leaves, stems of these plants die and flowers wither off. With the return of the favourable season, they again show flowering and growth.

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
