Dear expert,

" Value of Z is found to lie in the range of 0.1 to 0.2 for comparatively smaller areas such as countries while for very large areas such as entire continents, the slope of the line is much steeper with Z value lying from 0.6 to 1.2 ."

What do steeper slopes of regression mean?

This means that for every increase in an area analyzed for biodiversity of species, the species richness increases and the graph becomes more steeper (that is, making greater angle with the area axis almost becomes perpendicular). In otherwords a steeper slope of the regression line (Z) means that there is steep increase in a population of that particular species as on increasing the area of evaluation.
