Decomposers are also called as scavengers .
Right ??

Dear student.

No, they are not same.

Decomposers are organisms that break down dead or decaying organisms and in doing so, they carry out the natural process of decomposition. e.g. : fungi, bacteria etc.

Scavenging is a feeding behaviour in which organisms feed on dead plants and animals but do not decompose them. Scavengers are those animal, bird or insect, that feeds on dead plant material or refuse, or decaying matter. Example: Vulture.
