Butterflies mainly feeds on nectar (from flowers) and act as a
pollinator for some species of flowering plants The mode of
ingestion of butterfly is through the long part known as proboscis
Proboscis is act as a drinking straw which helps the butterfly to
reach deep into flowers to suck in nectar The sensors are present
near the tip of the proboscis and the food channel known as
olfactory sensors, which enables the butterfly to taste nectar and
other material on which they feed upon
