Define the following terms:
  • Sedimentation
  • Precipitation
  • Filtration
  • Evaporation
  • Condenstation

a) Sedimentation :- when insoluble , heavier substances settle down in mixture of many things , this process is called sedimentation.

b) Filteration :- the process by which we seperate solid and liquid substances with the help of filter is called filteration.

c) Condensation :- on cooling, water vapour changes into water droplets, this process is known as condensation

d) Evaporation :- on heating, water droplets changes into water vapour, this process is known as evaporation.

e) Precipitation:- it is any form of liquid or solid water particles that fall from the atmosphere and reach the surface of the earth.

Precipitation - The process by which water vapour present in the atmosphere condense and fall as rain, hail or snow is called precipitation.

Filtration - The process of separating insoluble components from a mixture using a filter is called filtration.

Evaporation - The process in which water changes into water vapour on heating is called evaporation.

Condensation - The process in which water vapour changes into water on cooling is called condensation.

   Hope you liked the answer!!!
