 five features of northern plain s are

1.they lie b/w the himalayan rivers in the north and peninsular plateau in the south.

2. the are made up of deposits of alluvium.

3. they cover an area of 7 lakh sq. km.

4.. they are densely populated physiographic division of india and are believed to be highly produvtive part in terms of agriculture.

5.on the basis of difference of relief, they are divided into 4 parts- bhabar,terai,bhangar and khadar
