Describe how rainfall and relief influence the vegetation of an area.

Factors like rainfall and relief influence the vegetation of an area.

Rainfall determines he type, character and extent of vegetation in an area.Areas of heavy rainfall have dense vegetation with rich forests whereas areas with less rainfall especially the arid and semi-arid areas have thorny and shrub vegetation.Tropical evergreen forests are found in areas having more than 200 cm of rainfall.Tropical moist deciduous forests are available in areas having rainfall between 100 to 200 cm of rainfall.Tropical dry deciduous forests are found in regions having rainfall between 100 cm and 70 cm and areas with less than 70 cm of rainfall consists of thorny and bushy vegetation.

Relief or landform of the area also influence the vegetation. The plain and fertile level of  lands are used for agriculture.Grasslands develop in areas with rough terrain. Sandy soils will have thorn bushes and plants and plants like mangroves and coastal forests are fond in coastal delta regions.Mountainous regions have vegetation depending on the altitude.
