a. In France, we witnessed that the Revolutionary government came into being in 1789-91 with National Assembly which gave France its new constitution limiting the powers of the monarchy and the Church.
b. Later in 1792, this revolutionary government set out to elect the national convention to look after the affairs of the country as per the rules of the Constitution of 1791. It thus provided for the abolition of monarchy and declaring France to be a Republic.
c. It also extended right to vote to all men of 21 years and above , regardless of their wealth .
d.It thus, abolished hereditary monarchy and gave power to the people to elect the head of the country.
