Describe the mechanism of the formation of diethyl ether from ethanol in the presence of concentrated sulphuric

acid. 

The carbocation formed by the ethanol in the presence of acid is open to attack by nucleophile. Ethanol, with lone pairs on oxygen atom, is itself a nucleophile, so it attacks on the carbocation:

So, the product is ethoxyethane and this reaction is dehydration reaction.
