Describe the narrator’s dream regarding the tooth-brush. (Three men in a boat / Ch : 4)

The narrator's recurring dream about the tooth-brush was a thing that haunted him when he was travelling and made his life a misery. He would dream that he hadn't packed it and then wake up in a cold sweat, get out of bed and start hunting for it. In the morning, he would pack it before he had used it and then he would have to unpack just to get it again. It was always the last thing he turned out of his bad and then he would repack and forget about it. Then he would have to rush upstairs at the last moment and carry it to the rail station, wrapped in his pocket handkerchief.
