Describe the state of Susan Morgan

Susan Morgan's struggle to give birth had been a gruelling one. Her child was born lifeless but it had endangered her life as well. Susan Morgan lay collapsed, almost pulseless and not yet out of the ether upon her side. The doctor had  to hurry to ensure that she would live, flinging down a hypodermic syringe and working unsparingly to restore the flaccid woman to life.
