describe the structure of graafian follicle
Dear Student,
Graafian follicle is a mature follicle found in mammalian ovary.
It is a matured form of tertiary follicle. It contains secondary oocyte surrounded by the zona pellucida.
It bursts to release ovum into the fallopian tube by the induction caused by Luteinizing hormone (LH).
After ovulation (release of ovum), it turns into corpus luteum.
