Dear Diary,

Today, I got the happy news that I have been selected for the Republic Day Parade!

I had been declared the best NCC cadet last month after a gruelling exam of physical strength and mental alertness. The Principal, the discipline committee of the school and the sports teachers voted unanimously for me to represent the school in the parade in Delhi. I am overjoyed and proud to get this honour. I will do my best to march well and conduct myself properly to keep the flag of my school flying high. I am sure it will be an enriching experience for me.

I do not think I will get much sleep tonight as I am very excited!
