Difference between a Little , Little , A few , Few.

Little is used to show uncountable things while few denotes that which is countable.
Little is used for singular uncountable while few is used for plural countable.
A few carries the meaning 'some' while a little conveys specifically how small the quantity is.

Example - There was little sugar in the jar. 
                 There was a little sugar in the jar (shows how the quantity was insignificant and small)
                 There were few family members here.
                 There were a few family members here.
