Difference between golgi apparatus and mitochondria

Mitochondria

Golgi Apparatus

It is a rod shaped organelle bound with double membrane. Inner membrane has the finger like inward projections named as cristae.

It consists of cisternae, tubules, vesicles and golgian vacuoles

ATP molecules released in the cytoplasm for providing energy for various vital functions.

It is involved in formation of Lysosomes and peroxisomes.

It provides enzymes for cellular respiration

It is the secretory organelle of the cell.

Mitochondria:
Structure: sausage shaped organelle, bound by a double membrane, the inside membrane folds forming 'cristae' which increase surface area
Function: is the location where the latter stages of aerobic respiration occur

Golgi Body:
Stucture: a series of folded membranes, usually in stacks of six
Function: directs the flow of substances in the cell, packages and directs the direction of newly made proteins
