difference between perennial and non perennial rivers

S.No. Perennial Rivers Non- Perennial Rivers
1 They are snow fed and therefore flow throughout the year. They are rain fed and therefore are seasonal in nature.
2 Due to high erosion rate it forms deep valleys and gorges. Due to low erosion rate it forms shallow graded valleys.
3 Rivers have meandering course. Rivers have relatively straight or linear course.
4 Flow of water is high due to hilly areas. Flow of water is weaker due to plain areas.
5 It forms deep U and V shape valleys, high waterfalls, large delta, deeper basins. It forms shallow valleys, small waterfall, shallow basins, delta and estuaries.
6 It helps in irrigation in the northern plains. It helps in irrigation in the Deccan Plateau.
