Please find the difference below:
Chordates | Vertebrates |
Chordates constitute a big group of animals (Phylum) that show presence of notochord at some or the all the stages of their life time. | Vertebrates constitute a sub group of animals (sub phylum) under chordates in which notochord in embryological stages is replaced by vertebral column (backbone). So, all vertebrates are chordates. |
They include both primitive and advanced chordates. | They are advanced chordates. |
They include both invertebrates chordates( such as tunicates and cephalochordates) and vertebrates chordates. | They include classes- Pisces,Amphibia, Reptilia, Aves and Mammalia. |
