differentiate between glaciers and rivers

Dear student,
River is the water bodies which is recharged by glaciers melt water, snow melt and water springs.. A river is a body of water flowing through a definite channel from a source at a higher level to a mouth located at a lower elevation.A glacier on the other hand is a body  of solid ice moving out of a snowfield.

Glacier

1. The moving heap of snow and ice is called glacier.

2. Glacier is found either on snow-capped mountains or in higher latitudes.

3. Examples: Pindari glacier, Siachen glacier etc.

River

1. Running water is called river.

2. Rivers are found from mountain tops to the mouth of oceans and from equator to poles.

3. The Ganga, Yamuna, Brahmaputra.

Glaceirs are large masses of ice whereas rivers are water bodies and glaciers are also a source of fresh water
