Differentiate between paired and unpaired fins . Also give pictorial difference

Dear student,

                    Unpaired fins                      Paired fins
In the majority of fishes, there are paired or median fins present. These include  one, two, or three dorsal fins, a distinct tail fin, and an anal fin.  The paired fins in the fishes include the pectoral fins, placed just back of the gills, and the pelvic, or ventral, fins, variable in position and sometimes entirely lacking.
These fins helps in changing direction and maintaining the speed of swimming.

These fins are used for steering,  balancing, and for slow movements.

Regards.
