Please find below the solution to the asked query

Difference between the gene structure in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
Prokaryotic gene Eukaryotic gene
Prokaryotes have many genes located mainly on one chromosome.  Eukaryotic genes are located on many chromosomes
Prokaryotic genes do not contain introns (non coding sequences).  Eukaryotic genes contain both introns (non coding sequences) and exons (coding sequences).
They are organized in operons which encode polycistronic RNAs which in turn encode multiple proteins. They are not organized in operons and are monocistronic, they often split into exons and introns. The introns are removed after transcription from the pre-mRNA
Prokaryotic genes are regulated by the piece of DNA located close i.e within 200bp to the genes or operons.  Eukaryotic genes are regulated either by the DNA elements located very close to the genes (i.e promoters and upstream regulatory sequences) or far from the genes (i.e enhancers and locus control regions).

Hope this information will clear your doubts about the difference between the gene structure in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
