Discuss fear is the mankinds greatest handicap .

 THE ROLE PLAY OF FEAR can dominate over anything else in onses life How?Fear of extreme disconnection, separation or alienation, which seems to come in many forms.  Disconnection from life is death, of course.  Disconnection from others is isolation and loneliness.  Disconnection from understanding is ignorance.  Disconnection from purpose is aimlessness, futility and insignificance.  Disconnection from wisdom and insight leads to foolishness, needless suffering and dissipation.  Disconnection from the Divine is described as being "cast into the outer darkness," where the soul experiences acute spiritual pain.  In contrast, perhaps the most powerful facilitator of connection is love (agape, eros, philia), so perhaps it follows that the most potent dread of all is not being able to experience or access love of one kind or another.  But at the root of all of these fears is an intense disconnection or alienation, which in turn is compounded by a sense of abiding loss and the grief which follows.  Without the full spectrum of love to shine a light into this darkness, who would not be afraid?
