Discuss the characterstics of a society with 'too many under 15s' and one with 'too few under 15s'.

Thank You

The following points may help you:

a. A society with too many under 15's implies increase in the number of dependents whereas one with less under 15's would mean less dependents. However, increase in the old population will also increase the number of dependents.

b. More under 15's would mean a greater demand for schools, primary secondary education. A society with less under 15's and more adult population would mean creating more institutes, colleges.

c. More under 15's would mean having more playgrounds, more toys. Less under 15's and more adult would imply generating more employment for the youth.

d. More under 15's of course would imply that government spending is  less on pension schemes, wheel chairs, old age homes  as compared to a society with more adult population.
