Dissolution of a solute is an exothermic process if

Dissolution of a solute is an exothermic process if 2. u ion remains super saturated Dissolution of a solute is an exothermic process if: (A) hydration energy > lattice energy (B) hydration energy < lat'ice energy (C) hydration energy = lattice ener&' (D) none of these

Dear student,
Option (A) is correct
Reason :  since Enthalpy of solution =  Hydration enthalpy( H ) + lattice Enthalpy (L)
Now when a solute is added in a solvent then at first its lattice is to be breaked and then dissolved in water or solvent and on adding in water the sufficient amout of heat is realesed to braek the lattice and dissolve the solute so on aissolution of a solute H must be greater than L for an exothermic process.
