Do positive charges move towards negative charges after the negative charges move towards the positive charges to form a cycle or they just absorb the negative charges ?

When the circuit is complete a chemical reaction takes place this the cell, i.e exchange of ions take place. That is when electrons start moving out of the cell from the negative terminal to the positive terminal. So, the current moves from the positive terminal to the negative terminal.
