Dr James Herriot was definitely a competent veterinary surgeon. He understood that the real fault with Tricky was his greed for food and Mrs Pumphey’s overfeeding. Because of this Tricky had become hugely fat and listless. Dr. James Herriot was practical and pragmatic. He brought Tricky to stay with other dogs. He did not give any medical treatment to the dog. For the first two days, the dog was not given any food any but lots of water. This method worked. Tricky started recovering. Soon, Tricky was out of danger and handed over to his mistress.
