Dear Student,

Follow the following steps of construction to draw an angle of 90°
1
 Draw any line segment XY of desired length and take a point A on it

 Taking A as centre and with small radius, draw an arc intersecting the line XY at two points P and Q

 With P and Q as center and with same radius as in step 2, draw arcs intersectingthe previous arc at points M and N
4
 Finally with M and N and with suitable radius, draw two arcs intersecting each otherat point O
Join OA and extend it to B
 Then ∠BAY=90° is the required angle
Now to bisect the above angle, From point D and with small radius draw an arc in the area between the angle, ∠BAY
Again, with Q as center and with previous radius, draw another arc intersecting  the first arc at E
Join AE and extend it
Then AE is the angle bisector of ∠BAY
Measure the angles with protractor to get each of the two angles as  45°
