We are introduced to J. A. Jaffers in the novel ‘The Invisible Man’ as a constable or “bobby” in the town of Iping. He is called upon by George hall and Janny Hall to arrest Griffin after they suspect him of robbing the Reverend Bunting. We notice that Jaffers finds out about Griffin being invisible. He overcomes his shock at the discovery that Griffin was invisible quickly, and he is determined to arrest him in spite of this.
