Financial independence is an important factor that contributes towards empowerment of women . Employment generates self confidence and self dependency among women . Also if employment of women rises then their families will be more inclined towards educating girl child than they were before . In orthodox patriarchal societies like India were education of girls , training etc are not given much importance will be encouraged to educate girls if they become assured that in future even girls can generate income for the family . This will also help to reduce gender disparities .
