Example of distance and displacement

Dear Student

the total lenth of path covered by a moving body from its initial position to its final position is called distance.

the shortest distance between the initial and final position is called displacement.

Let a person started from A goes to B and comes back to A. 
Distance will = 5 + 5 = 10 Km
Displacement  = 0 km (as initial and final positions are same)
