Examples of variation in gene pool

Dear student,

A gene pool is the collectin of all the genes and their various alleles within an inbreeding population. Their phenotypes may or may not be expressed. A population with a large and diverse gene pool will show more survivability and fitness. They exhibit genetic variations during environmental stress and succeed in natural selection.
Examples for genetic variations in humans are a person's skin colour, hair colour, eye colour etc.
Examples in plants include modification of leaves, flowers etc.
