Experts please explain me what is meant by polarity here !!!!??

Dear Student
The word polarity means the property of having poles or being polar.

In this sentence,

Mid oceanic ridge is the zone where new oceanic crusts are formed. This freshly formed crusts in Mid oceanic ridges, are closer to the earth surface. Hence they have same polarity as of the earth surface and called as normal polarity.
