explain 5 central features of india climate

Dear Student,

The following points may help you:

a.  Climate of India is dependent on factors like latitude, relief features, altitude wind system etc.
b.  The seasons in our country also varies from North to south in our country

latitude also impacts India's climate. Tropic of cancer almost divides the country in two equal parts running from Rann of Kuchh to Mizoram.   Therefore, India receives both tropical as well as sub-tropical climate
c. Location- India has a strategic location, it has vast coastal area which has a moderating influence on the areas surrounding them. Likewise, Himalayas in the north act as natural barriers to the extremely cold winds  blowing from Central Asia and enables North India to have more or less uniform temperatures. . India lies in the region of north easterly winds. These winds also influences the climate of the country.
d. Pressure and surface winds -Development of low and high pressure during different seasons and the consequent development and pattern of wind movements. During winter high pressure develops north of the Himalayas, cold dry winds blow to the south. In summer, a low pressure area develops over interior Asia as well as over north western India. This causes complete reversal of winds. These winds blow over the ocean and get moisture. They bring rainfall over India.

e. India. has a monsoon type climate impacted by ITCZ, differential heating and cooling of land and water, Jet streams.
