The American revolution was against the colonial rule over America by Britain. The success of this revolution inspired countries to also launch anti-colonial struggles. It also inspired the establishment of democracy and self government.
The second paragraph describes the importance of the French Revolution (1789-99). This revolution had political, social and economic reasons. It ended the system of monarchy in France. The strength of the middle class improved due to this revolution. The poor benefited from this revolution and could now hope for a better life. It introduced the ideas of democracy in France.
