Catecholamine is an amine which is derivatived from the amino acid tyrosine. Catecholamine act as a hormone or neurotrnasmitter. For example, Epinehprine, dopamine and norepinephrine are collectively known as catecholamines.  

Here circuits refers to detailed network or arrangements of dopamine receptors present in brain.
Dopamine is a mono-amine neurotransmitter produced by mid-brain and hypothalamus. It is a chemical which transmits a signal from one nerve cell to another nerve cell. It has various functions like regulation of emotional and movement responses, memory, behavior and pleasurable rewards. Excess or deficiency of this chemical may result in serious disorders.
