Explain fig7.10 ncert bio class12th

The figure 7.10 in NCERT in biology of class 12 shows the rough sketch of the evolution of the different life forms of the vertebrates specially reptiles, birds and mammals with respect to the time of the evolution or the era in which they have evolved on a geological scale.
It tells about the fact that we see only the modern day descendants of reptiles like turtles, tortoise and crocodile.These are the reptiles of different shapes and sizes that have evolved and dominated the earth.These finally have evolved into birds and mammals.
