explain how sound is produced from veena

Dear Student,
The answer to this question is,

The veena is a fretted string instrument used in Hindustani classical music. As such, most of the audible sounds arise from transverse vibrations of the strings. Longitudinal vibrations do exist but they will be too high in frequency to hear with human ears.

Regards.
