Explain in brief all the rebellions mentioned in the chapter.

Bastar and Java rebellions are the two rebellions mentioned in the chapter.
The two rebellions were very similar in characteristics to each other, except for the fact that in the case of Bastar (India) the rebellion was against the British rules and officials, and in the case of Java, it was against French rules and officials.
In both these rebellions, the use of scientific forestry prohibited the forest people from accessing forests and forest products for their own consumptions. Practices like shifting cultivation were also prohibited. Such large scale displacement and extreme embargos resulted in rebellions by the forest people in both these cases.
