Microsporocytes are the cells that produce microspores (male gametes) by undergoing meiosis. It is also known as microspore mother cell.

Megasporocyte are the cells that produce megaspores (female gamete) by undergoing meiosis. It is also known as megaspore mother cell.

Male strobili are the structures that have sporangia in which male spore is formed.

Female strobili are the structures that have sporangia in which female spore is formed.
