Explain unitary method.?

Unitary method is the method of finding the value of a single unit (object) at first and then finding the value of required number of units (objects).

For example:

The cost of 3 shirts is Rs 675. How many shirts can be purchased with Rs 2250?

Solution:

In the above question, first of all we have to find the number of shirts that can be purchased for Re 1 (single unit of money) then we can calculate the number of shirts that can be purchased for the given amount.

Number of shirts purchased with Rs 675 = 3

Thus, 10 shirts can be purchased with Rs 2250.
